Hello! I have a special announcement today.

I've been thinking about how to best structure my next major tileset release. I want to do something that combines multiple popularly-requested themes and locations, but without too much overlap with previously-release sets. Earlier this month I posted this thread for suggestions for potential "beast village" tiles (feel free to continue adding to that thread; I'll refer to it as I build these tilesets).

This is what I'm going to do: Time Fantasy: Exotic Lands

The next tileset release will include three different tileset locations. This structure will be similar to the Ruined Dungeons tileset pack, which had three separate locations together under a single theme.

(Of course, the "Exotic Lands" name isn't final. If you have a better suggestion, let me know!)

Time Fantasy: Exotic Lands will contain tilesets for:

  • Giant Tree
Yggdrasil tree, with roots, branches, giant leaves, etc-- with areas for an inside-the-giant-tree-trunk dungeon as well as pathways and villages in the branches outside
  • Feudal Japan
Shogun world; based on classic eastern fantasy settings-- Japanese castles, villages, shrines, bamboo forest, sakura trees, etc
  • Atlantis
Underwater city, ruins, caves and sunken treasures. underwater tiles: coral reef, seaweeds, shells, etc

These themes were chosen so that I can use them to include multiple suggestions from the "beast villages" suggestion thread as well as previous patron requests. I'm hoping to cover a lot of ground between these three tilesets -- and of course elements from each will be useable in different locations as well, in line with the mix-and-match nature of Time Fantasy tilesets.

Lastly, here's a little preview. I haven't done much yet, but I'm working on the base terrain tiles for the first location.  This small image shows what I've done so far with the Inside the Giant Tree tileset:

Thanks!
