What's Next (Patreon)
Content
Earlier this week the Side-View RPG Battlers were released on the RPG Maker store, and today I published them on itch.io (of course-- loyal patrons got access to them a few weeks ago). I hope you are enjoying these battlers and finding them useful.
With that major release out of the way, it's time to look ahead.
Ashlands Tileset
When we reached the $1200 goal (huge!!), we held another tileset poll. The winner was the ashlands! I'll be working on that tileset over the upcoming weeks and I hope to have it finished before the end of the month.
It will be released for free and part of the special patreon reward collection, like the Jungle, Beach and Dark Dimension tilesets.
Animation Pack
The next release will be a small animation pack. Because of the popularity of animations in the patron request threads, I've decided to put together a good collection and release them together as a new asset pack.
It will include simple pixel effects like impacts, dust clouds, etc-- the kind of small animations that you can use to give more life to your world. It would also feature more specific animations for spells and magical attacks: fireballs, lightning strikes, etc.
The animations would be made on the scale of the character sprites so they would look good on the game map as in an action-rpg as well as in a traditional rpg battle with the side-view battlers.
These wouldn't be branded specifically as Time Fantasy-- the idea is that they would be useful for different pixel-art styles (including of course Time Fantasy, but for Omega Modern and others as well).
I'll sell it as a ~$5 stand-alone and it will be freely available for patrons at the $10 tier. I'm hoping to have this finished before the summer.
Omega Modern
You might remember this Omega Modern preview from the beginning of the year. I haven't done anything with that set since then (been focusing on Time Fantasy)-- and I'm going to get back to work on it so it can be released this summer.
The pack's nearly finished as it is (lots of tiles and characters, already bigger than the original Old School Modern) -- but it does need some small changes and fixes before its ready for release. Plus-- I really want to add more content to it so it functions better as a complete stand-alone pack: monster battlers; maybe icons.
So that will keep me busy for some time-- but it's something that I'll be working alongside other projects.
Future Fantasy
And then... the long-awaited sci-fi expansion(s) in the Time Fantasy style. This would be a big expansion, on par with the original Time Fantasy packs-- with multiple tilesets (spaceships, neon cities, alien planets) and a large collection of new sprites.
Hopefully it'll be done this year-- I would like for this to be a major holiday release.
-----
That's all I have to say for now. Hopefully someone actually reads all this and I didn't type it up for nothing-- lol!
I'll be back after the weekend with some new graphics.
Thanks!
