Good point about how “selling out” is an outdated model. Great ep!

The label “sell out” depends far too much on the assumption of intent. Some behaviors are just consistent with a person’s ethos and they may actually believe they’re doing what’s right. Actions should be criticized based on their outcomes outside of intentions.

Picking up on these comments. Yes, it seems like the term "sell out" has lots much (or all?) of its meaning in current times, certainly in much of the entertainment industry. I can picture this as a separate topic for Trevor and the gang for a future podcast.

I think John Oliver's Last Week Tonight is pretty good. They take deep dives into a lot of mundane problems in America and try to make boring but important issues entertaining. Some of the topics I found interesting that they covered are slap suits, mobile home landlords, and trucking

His show may be more info-tainment than a gut busting comedy show, but I find John to be likable, funny, and not too preachy. In my opinion he is by far the best offspring of Jon Stewart's daily show
