Trevor goes 12 rounds with the complicated relationship between connection and contact.  How most news and events are becoming instantly normalized and moved on from. Utilizing examples from TV and Twitter headlines, pulled from over the last few years, the picture expands itself to understand the differences between a 'work' and 'content', and being a creator of context rather than content.

Chris Brown does have a history of beating up and harassing women though. Karreuche Tran is one of them.

The discussion was specifically about beating women, of which he was only PROVEN I believe to have beaten one, Rihanna, and I believe his point was about white men proven to have done as bad or worse, some more recently, who didn’t have it brought up all the time. Pointing out Brown did it I don’t think does anything to address the point he was actually making. I think to address his point people would have to point out that the other guys actually didn’t abuse women too, or did but were given the same treatment by the public as Brown.

I see what you mean but I believe there’s also evidence that he’s abused and harassed multiple women, Karreuche Tran being one of them. Overall, I do agree with the fact that black men get different treatment for domestic violence than white men (if you look at the case with Shia Lebeouf and FKA Twigs, hardly anyone is talking about it- except the black feminist blog site MadameNoire). I just disagree with the fact that Chris Brown only abused one woman because there’s been multiple reports of him assaulting and harassing many different women. Other than Harvey Weinstein who has been in the spotlight for rape, assault, and abuse; had Chris Brown been a white man, they would’ve talked about it for a while and then forgot about it.

You're so right about this programmed "outrage"- the Beyoncé ticket release was an example I remember being made Suuuch a big deal then apparently wasn't accurate. It's like we got used to being isolated, we were already on a road to desensitization, and it seems to be magnified lately. Pretty sad to me. There's also soooo much going on at the same time, and at least for me, more difficult to have consistent reliable sources of info, that it's hard to keep up.

Hyper- disconnected! You hit the nail on the head...... this constant connection via the socials has led to us actually being less connected IRL.

Great episode, a lot of valid points were made. I honestly think the pandemic threw gasoline on the fire too just from the mental standpoint
