Today Trevor Ken and Mario sit down and thru a multitude of examples, examine the 'death of the elder'.  Now rather than being the holders of knowledge, the old heads are just extra weight...  in this topsy-turvy America as the practicalities of maneuvering the tech-obsessed modern era continuously change, once you hit 50 it's time to hang up your opinions and follow the masses as the voices and fingers that hold court are becoming younger and younger.

such a great episode!

Good episode. The point about Burny being in more of a grandpa role was right on the money. His rants about the millionaires and billionaires seem to target an older generation. It's kinda like, 'Grampa Burny says you have to pay for my college and health Care.'

That story Ken mentioned regarding KRS-ONE was told by Bun B when him and Pimp C got signed to Jive.

There’s so many interesting dynamics going on, with the media all pandering to younger people in some ways but young people are financially struggling way more than their parents, wages are too low and house prices keep going up, all the jobs in creative industries are dominated by nepotism babies there’s also a ton of Gen Xers getting into buying up property and renting it out and there’s no rent control so they can just keep jacking up the price, the wave of strikes is encouraging and this is the only way anything will improve, not by younger people changing their attitudes and working harder There’s also the rich getting much richer from the pandemic and global poverty increasing, plus knock on effects on the cost of living from the Ukraine war and cost of energy, and supply chain issues from pandemic too, energy prices in the UK have gone up by hundreds of times and tons of people are defaulting on their mortgage payments there’s so many factors making life hard for everyone and especially hard for younger people

Also I wouldn’t say all the media is pandering to younger people as millennial/zoomer bashing is one of the key bits of clickbait they still do, it was relentless about 4-5 years ago, blaming them for the death of endless things
