great episodes. thanks. what is being described here is related to the dead internet theory https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DEn758DVF9I. https://nymag.com/intelligencer/2018/12/how-much-of-the-internet-is-fake.html. Also I appreciate the relative irony of my username given the topic.

Baudrillard would've liked Ghost in The Shell: Stand Alone Complex. The whole premise is about copies with no original the nature of reality the essence of bodies and the stability of society in a world where technology makes all of those things very flexible. Truly ahead of it's time. The sequels/reboots are not great.

Iqfy kind of looks like a toy app or similar. Loads of software developers build web apps like that when they're learning to code or experimenting with new technologies. It's the sort of thing one might bring up in a job interview and sometimes they can form part of a portfolio. The "CVC" page looks like they wrote an algorithm for looping through consonants and vowels in the alphabet to produce the different combinations (possibly for fun but perhaps as part of a coding challenge for an employer). The "Info" section might just be homework. The "Tools" section's a bit more interesting... They probably built the site a while ago, mostly forgot about it but occasionally link to it from their other projects to make their newer apps look more professional (or maybe for SEO reasons?).

I think this might be the right track. The CVC page might even be demo of a wordpress plugin that autogenerates content to prove that they can write one as the engine behind it is wp. The weird social media data aggregator section looks like something similar in that it's a proof of concept of automated aggregation. The SEO angle doesn't make sense since very little if any on the site is coherent enough to be optimized for search and it doesn't look monetized or link to any monetization methods.

I was thinking more the SEO for the sites that linked back to iqfy. Thought maybe they would benefit from the external links but honestly SEO's a bit of a mystery to me so you're probably still right about that not making sense!

SEO is a moving target but admittedly outdated knowledge is that linking to iqfy from a bunch of sites even if it's just an email addy will mostly improve iqfy's ranks not the sites that are doing the linking.

wow, I was just thinking this idea would make a great SAC plot. That show integrates philosophy into its stories so well

The other interesting subplot is about bots slowly becoming sentient as might be happening here...
