In addition to movie nights, we've been doing book club night. We read the book and then do the subsequent discussion over at the Discord voice and chat server. If you are a patron but haven't figured out how to use the Discord server yet, you simply have to follow these instructions: https://www.patreon.com/posts/instructions-for-31613305. Participation in the movie and book club night discussions is available to all patrons.

Book Club is on Friday night and Movie Club is on Saturday night.

What T was saying about celebrities degrading into influencers made me think of the real & the hyper-real. Hyper reality is just the concentration of reality and because it’s so concentrated we have difficulty processing hyper reality. I think the same thing is going with celebrities and influencers.

Also on Captain America, I think he was allowed to be heroic b/c he’s an idealized image of the 50s American white man. It’s millennials that stand to inherit from the boomers fantasizing about boomers w/ a heart of gold.
