This episode is hosted D., Kenny, and T. We're joined by Jaya Sundaresh, who tells us about her 10 years knee deep into Tumblr and what that immersion did to her brain.

Does anyone else see the irony of calling out Proctor and Terese as racists during a discussion about Tumblr callout culture? I think an argument can be made that they’re class reductionist, or too eager to fight the identity politics left as T was saying, but most people don’t bother to make the case, they think it should be obvious and you’re dumb or racist too for not seeing it. I listen to both and don’t necessarily always agree. I think they would agree with a lot of what the guest is saying, but they have a clunkier way of saying it. Their argument is the extreme idpol left is alienating to the “normies” who might be inclined to become socialists, but they don’t recognize their own role in ratcheting up conflict and how alienating that is. We’ve already demonstrated how calling someone racist can be weaponized to discredit them without engaging with their arguments, so even if true, I’d like to hear a case against them without that.

I'm a big fan of both What's Left and Champagne Sharks. Thanks for breaking this down.

Good episode, but I had to listen in chunks as I found the guest quite intense
