Your right to privacy should not supersede another person’s right of autonomy. If a person decides to engage in into relations with a trans person they ought to have the right to know. Likewise if a person wants to engage in condomless sex they ought to have a right to do so. And because your transition makes you akin to the full sexual identity to which you transitioned in your eyes doesn’t make it so for the other party.

I'm afraid I have a severe disagreement with your and your cohost's comments on trans stealth. This is a matter of safety and basic dignity for my community I take sincere issue with the characterization of stealth as being a violation of trust or anywhere near synonymous to rape. Stealth is a matter of personal safety for us specifically because of people like Lil Duval, who sometimes put these horrific words into action - especially against transwomen of color. And stealth is an escape from oppression. Our pre-transition history is our past. It is medical records, it is intensely private, and it is not who we are. But our patriarchal society wants us to never forget who we were and what our history is, and to remember that we will always be considered second class citizens. We are not allowed to be considered who we say we are. We are defined by the worst impulses of people we have to live with. We are defined by cisgender men who obsess about not being seen as gay, and are prepared to assault and murder to keep up that image of themselves. They get to define our identities and our destinies. Not us. I believe and hope that the black and trans experiences can be a bridge to an all-encompassing movement for social justice. I know that I will not have my claim to justice fulfilled until you have yours, because we both exist in a society that seeks to deny us the autonomy to derive our own meaning from our own bodies.
