“Done!” Web Mistress called out for everyone to hear. The moment after she spoke, Titan’s suit slumped down, completely useless. Not even emergency power, since there was no operating system to run it. “No other digital targets worth speaking of. Switching to physical combat.”
Pyra didn’t hear her, or else what she said didn’t register. Her eyes were on Bloodmoon, standing next to Alchemy’s slumped-over form. “ALCHEMY! NO! GET BACK FROM HIM YOU BITCH!” Wheeling away from me, she turned, and fired another of those glue shots, this time trying to hit Bloodmoon. Now, I was close enough to see the action. That kind of weapon had to have limited ammo. Which was good, because Pyra was still a dangerous combatant, even without her fire, as shown by the fact that Bloodmoon had to abandon her next strike to focus on dodging the glue round, lest she be caught up in it.
Still, that gave me the opening I needed. My blade resheathed, and then slashed out once again. “Fuyu no Ikari,” I whispered, as the blade shone with icy light. This time, instead of a curse, it was energy, and it cut deep into Pyra’s side. Not a life-threatening hit, but her weakness to the cold made it dangerous all the same. “You shouldn’t turn your back on me, dear,” I whispered, as her eyes rolled back in her head, and she slumped to the ground.
Bloodmoon nodded to me, as I stood, and turned to face the rest of the Squadron. “Thank you, Master. She will make a fine addition to your harem, when you’ve finished breaking her.”

“You will have to do better than that if you want to save me,” Stolen Victory said. “I must fight you all, with my full power. You cannot hold back if you wish to survive.” As she said that, her blade flashed, and another cut appeared on Indomitable’s torso, this one a bit deeper. I could see him gritting his teeth from the hit, but taking hits was his whole thing and he wasn’t going down just yet. The Squadron weren’t the only ones who would need to do more, if we wished to live through this.
“She is too fast!” Foxtrot cursed. “I guess there’s no choice, then. Daichi no seirei yo, tamashī o moyase!” The words at the end were the invocation of a spell, as she performed several hand signs in quick succession. A golden flame formed in her hand, and she threw it at Stolen Victory. Surprisingly, it hit! However, my newest pet did not even flinch. A mental attack, then, and not one strong enough to overcome her defenses, something Foxtrot picked up on quickly. “She still has the defense ring protecting her! Mental attacks are useless, unless they can overpower it!”
Lucky Star nodded at Foxtrot’s words. “So be it. We will take down Lady Victory, and then proceed to deal with the others.” He fired three quick blasts from the palm of his hand. They arced through the air, all three aimed at Stolen Victory. Two of the three hit, but seemed to do little more than get Victory to just shake her head sadly at him.

Web Mistress pulled out her blaster, which was, by now, so much more than just a weak stunner. Of course, she wasn’t as threatening in the real world as she was in the virtual world, but the shot she fired at Lucky Star was still on target enough that the alien had to duck low in order to avoid getting hit, which was something.
I formed a sliver of ice in my hand, and threw it at Foxtrot, hoping to give her something else to think about. The sliver hit home, but barely damaged her. However, that was enough. The sliver slipped into her body, ready to start growing, and freezing her from the inside out. Hopefully she’d surrender before she died, but I wasn’t going to take chances.
Bloodmoon shifted position, moving around the corner of the crates, towards me. Turning back to the heroes, she took a deep breath and then said, “By the Bloody Moon, hear my pain. BLOODMOON CRY!” And, as she said those words, a psychic scream emitted from her mouth. Thankfully, she’d chosen her position well, as it caught all the heroes, and not Victory or I. Lucky Star was the only one unaffected, with his alien physiology, but the biggest surprise was seeing Indomitable shudder, and then his eyes roll back in his head, as he collapsed backward to the ground.
There was a flash of light from Titan’s suit. Where before the menacing piece of military hardware had been was now stood a man in a flight suit, with a gun in his hand. He took a deep breath, and crouched down. “Fuck! The OS took out life support. Thank god the recall system was isolated from the rest of the computers.” Suddenly, he looked around, and saw Indomitable out cold. “Ah, shit. Don’t suppose we can talk about this?”

Tears fell from Stolen Victory’s face as she stabbed her blade into Indomitable’s forehead. Whatever power gave him resistance to damage clearly was no longer working, as it sank in with a sickening squelch. “I cannot disobey my Master. I must kill Indomitable, and he is not dead yet.”
I decided to leave her to it. Instead, I turned my attentions to Foxtrot. Darting forward, my blade sang out once again, even as ice grew within her. The combined damage left the foxgirl bloody, and shaking on her feet, but still up, and capable of resisting. For now.
Bloodmoon launched herself into the fray, swinging her scepter like a club. It came down hard upon Lucky Star’s head, with an audible thud that made me sure he was seeing stars. “We’re almost finished, Master! Then you can claim your new prizes! Do you want us to go and get the sneaks, as well?”
Foxtrot’s eyes went wide, and then her form shifted, reverting to her human form. She was less powerful in this form, but she had something that her other form didn’t: a commlink on her wrist. “This is Foxtrot to HQ. Broken Arrow! Broken Arrow! Confirmation code Foxtrot-Uniform-Bravo-Alpha-Romeo-Seven! All units lost or compromised. No retrieval possible! Send package!” With a glare at me, she said, “You won’t take us alive.”
Lucky Star groaned as he got his bearings, only to hear what Foxtrot called in. “No! Hinako, we can still save them!” But he was still too shellshocked by Bloodmoon’s attack to do more than that weak protest.
