First of all, if you enjoyed part 1 of the complete reading of Beowulf in Old English that I'm doing with Simon Roper, we're continuing the series with part 2 on Sunday, February 26th, at 1:00 p.m. U.S. Mountain time (check timeanddate.com for the time in your local time zone). The zoom link is here( https://cuboulder.zoom.us/j/94481319188 ) and the passcode is: yldesta

Our goal is still to finish reading the whole poem (and making our on-the-spot translations) by the end of 2023, and these monthly installments ought to keep us on track to do that.

I think, since we read the prologue through Fit 3 for the first one, we'll probably read Fits 4-7 this time. If you didn't attend the first live reading, this post and this post give you some background information you ought to have.

Second, at least one other event is scheduled for that weekend, although we haven't yet decided on the platform for it (so I don't have a Zoom or Twitch or what have you link yet, but I will--and I think we will have a live audience, but that will depend on the platform etc. too). On Saturday, February 25th, at 6:00 p.m. U.S. Mountain time, I will be talking with Matthew Colville. He and I have wanted to do this for a long time but have very different schedules, so this is something I've looked forward to. It was Matt talking about my Youtube channel in 2016 or '17 that first multiplied my audience from hundreds of subscribers to tens of thousands of subscribers. You probably already know who he is if you've come within twenty feet of Dungeons & Dragons in the last few years.

I've been very sick for a while but I'm emerging from that and the fog it creates somewhat now. I want to make sure I host February's office hours, so that will probably have to be this coming weekend too, though it makes the weekend pretty packed. I have some other obligations I have to make sure are scheduled before I can put a time on that, too.

I regret that my illness made February less interesting around here than it otherwise would have been, but I'm getting some more interviews and such put together for March and April.

All the best for now,

Jackson Crawford

P.S. My Patreon messages don't work. I don't get notifications for them, and there's nothing on my home page to show me when there is or isn't a message. I can't even always see them when I check for them manually, and you won't see it if I reply! The best ways to get in touch are: a) just to comment on posts like this, b) to post in the  Community page, or c) to email my assistant Stella at [admin AT JacksonWCrawford.com]--remember the 'W' between my first and last names in that domain name.

I'm glad you're feeling better, Dr C: colour me officially impressed that you were able to produce three whole episodes of your new rune course while battling the germs 🏆 If the schedule is returning to normal now, can we expect to see the Zoom interview with Danny Bate from back in December on YouTube soon-ish?

Yes. Putting late 2022's Zoom interviews up has gotten postponed mostly by trying to get rune material out while there's heightened interest in that from the January find and whatever the March find will be.
