So that you can go ahead and watch it if you weren't able to attend live (or even if you were), here's an early Patreon-exclusive upload of the Vasshus interview from earlier about the spectacular new rune find. This is low-resolution (480p) so that I could upload it fast, but probably the only place that will matter is in looking at the photo of the "Idiberug" inscription, which you can find online. I'll get this edited, which will mostly just be adding a little text, and probably post it publicly this week.

Meanwhile the first Beowulf reading with Simon Roper is at 1:00 p.m. my time (about an hour and 20 minutes after I post this). I did confirm with him that we both understood this to be today (sorry again for being so stupid about dates lately). A couple pointers if you're coming to the first Beowulf reading:

1. We're reading Fits 1-4, but I forgot that the Prologue (Hwæt we gar-dena...) is not considered a Fit. Obviously since we're starting the reading today, we're also reading the Prologue today.

2. Like with Old Norse eddic poetry, scholars disagree about how long lines are, and what one editor considers a line, another will consider only a half-line. Real-world example of how that could be a problem: I'm reading the Old English text from the 4th edition of Klaeber's Beowulf, which gives Beowulf 3,182 lines. Meanwhile, the Modern English translation I recommend, by Dick Ringler, gives Beowulf 6,364 lines! So check how many lines your edition or translation has, as quite possibly you'll have to double the line number I mention. I'll try to keep this in mind when I draw attention to specific lines and say something like "Line 55 in half-line editions, or line 110 in full-line editions."

Otherwise here is the original post with details about this reading series, and here is the post with the Zoom link (Simon Roper is the host for this installment).

All the best for now,

Jackson Crawford

P.S. My Patreon messages don't work. I don't get notifications for them, and there's nothing on my home page to show me when there is or isn't a message. I can't even always see them when I check for them manually, and you won't see it if I reply! The best ways to get in touch are: a) just to comment on posts like this, b) to post in the  Community page, or c) to email my assistant Stella at [admin AT JacksonWCrawford.com]--remember the 'W' between my first and last names in that domain name.

It depends on which three you're talking about, but potentially they're these three: the Vasshus interview is here (https://youtu.be/EInVJtwYbEo), the first Beowulf reading video is here (https://youtu.be/4IJqbMLg4D0), and the second Beowulf reading video is here (https://youtu.be/ZR_sFrvOw1Q).
