This first change doesn't affect anybody who is currently a Patron. But going forward, I have removed the Alu Tier (once $1, later $2/ month) for new supporters. Too much of a donation at that level gets taken away by Patreon, and most other Patreon creators that I've checked with now have set their minimum monthly level at $5. I have instituted the same change, so that as of right now new Patrons can join at either the $5/ month Futhark tier or the $10/ month Erilaz tier (or donate any amount greater than the tier minimum, if they choose, as many of you kind people have).

Managing translation requests is still a time-consuming and somewhat difficult proposition, but I think the current system of posting a weekly digest on Patreon has worked out well for just about everybody concerned. Since of course there are going to be small numbers of people who join every month just to get a request and then bail, I've also made one change that does affect current Patrons: the monthly word-count limit for a translation request is now 9 words for Futhark tier (and the legacy Alu tiers, for those of you who signed up before I closed them) and 18 words for Erilaz tier. If a Patron wants more words or more frequent translations beyond that, I'll have to charge my market rate for time spent on commission work (if I even have time to accept it--my schedule is extremely full).

I really appreciate everyone who has given on my Patreon in the last two and a half years; if it weren't for you, this video series would have ceased to exist a long time ago. As it is, I get to spend time going to the mountains and explaining Norse things while knowing that I'm not going to get poorer for doing it.

Thank you, and all the best,

Jackson Crawford
