This video is scheduled to be my normal update on Thursday, August 9th. I wanted to go ahead and give Patreon supporters an advance look two weeks before, because so many of you have asked lately about the influence of volcanic activity on the description of Ragnarǫk in Vǫluspá. Dr. Mathias Nordvig, who also teaches at the University of Colorado Boulder, is one of the top experts on that question. Dr. Mathias Nordvig teaches at the University of Colorado Boulder in the Nordic Studies Program, and has done fascinating research on volcanic phenomena in Old Norse literature.
