Some NaruHina Goodness as a doodle!

Hinata should have known; the date was an obligation, one taken in desperation to stave off the future she feared; a future alone.
He had not been someone she could have ever loved, but he was someone that could suit her family.

At least in outward appearence; he had discovered he was a jerk the moment he tried to force himself upon her.

Things could have become worse if it had not been for the timely arrival of Naruto.

A punch and a kick and the asshole she had been with was down.

As people gathered, he ushered Hinata away, keeping people from gawking too long. They walked, and walked silently for some time, until the sun began to set.
The wind blew around them and Hinata shivvered in her dress.

Naruto noticed and before Hinata realised she felt her shoulders covered, his jacket sliding over her.

THey stopped as she looked over to Naruto, her cheeks red with embarrassment as she clutched at the jacket.

"Thank you." she muttered, naruto responding with a simple smile and nod.

She pulled her arms in to the sleeves, and inhaled the scent of the blonde; how she had dreamed of being alone with him for years; he may have been one of the schools troublemakers, but he was so kind, so gentle to his friends; few understood him.
But he had never looked to her beyond friendship, and yet, he was always there when needed, like a miracle.

The wind blew again, the jacket and her dress taken along with it, catching on her body, and the leaves of a nearby tree passing around them.

"Looks like a storm might come." Naruto muttered. "I'll get you home."

"No." Hinata muttered, her hair blowing across her face as she  turned to him. "I want to stay with you." she admitted, a tear in her eye. She may never have Naruto, she was trying to accept that; she HAD to accept it or be alone.

Why did he have to always be there for her?

Why did he have to be so good, and kind to her?

Why could she not let go of her feelings for this young man?

She stepped forward and Naruto blinked, cheeks flaring as her lips pressed against his without warning.

TIme seemed to stop, the coolness of the air replaced with a burning heat shared between them in a singular moment of affection.

Hinata worried she had made things worse, but for once, after this night, she let go of her shyness, her fear of what others would think, disregarding the fact he had shown interest in one of her friends, and took the leap to show her feelings.
After tonight, Naruto would know how she felt, and ruin a friendship she held close to her heart.

When she pulled her lips away, she went to step back, only to realise she was being held against him as Narutos arms wrapped around her waist.
She blushed and waited for him to let her go, but as the seconds ticked away and he didn't, she looked up to his face, coyly, to see a faint blush along with a smile.

Her own cheeks flared even brighter; what could this mean? he wasn't pushing her away, nor upset at her brash action.

"Hinata..." he said, "...is that... a thank you or..."

She put her face to his chest, hiding it.

"...or." she repied, as if the unspoken words were understood.

Naruto smiled more, and using one finger under her chin, raised her to face him again, and once more take hold of her lips with his.

Hinata's heart raced faster, perhaps it wasn't a storm that was blowing around them, but the winds of fate bringing home the wishes she had long spoken in to the ether.
