What's up patrons!

Here are the FLP and stems for my latest remake of Kanye West's "Runaway", from his album 5th studio album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. The project stems and FLP will only be available to you here on Patreon.

2 weeks ago I polled my audience on YouTube to see what Ye remake you would most like to see next, and while the majority of votes were for "Ni**as In Paris", I secretly decided to remake all four songs at the same time!

While "Runaway" was the first remake to be completed, the others are currently close behind and will also be released at some point, hopefully soon.

Now, into the nitty gritty:

For this remake I watched a lot of old Kanye West footage, hoping to figure out how the song was made. In doing so, I stumbled upon a video of Ye performing "Runaway" live on an Akai MPC3000 XL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OvH3vBC8yK0

After watching that video, I decided to get my hands on an MPC myself, in hopes to find a piano preset that matched the original song. While I couldn't find a preset that would deserve "It matches perfectly!", a phrase I often say in my videos, it was by far the closest preset to the song that I could find in and out of FL Studio.

The preset I used was the "F9 Piano Club X", in Akai's "F9 Instruments" MPC expansion.

After this, the rest of the song was quite simple. The song contains 2 vocal samples taken from these two clips:

- Rick James - Mary Jane (Live 1981): https://youtu.be/iL4Ig5YdvbI?t=388

- Introduction to Star Time (Von Frankie Crocker Live): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WoUYVKy_CFs

"Runaway" also samples the drum loop from "The Basement" by Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oaSB6MIZkSc

You can have a more in-depth look into this song in the attached FLP and stems below. I will also be breaking down the project on YouTube soon.

Thank you for your support of these videos. Feel free to comment below if you have any questions or you can message me directly, here on Patreon.

Cheers,

Aiden
