Before Amiibos, there were FUUBs, the unreleased game peripheral for Wii by THQ (Patreon)

FUUB was an interesting gaming peripheral planned for Wii by THQ, to expand their casual games market along with the uDraw GameTablet. With FUUB gamers were able to use these motion sensing dices in multiplayer with friends, to resolve puzzles in adventure games and play minigames in party games. Unfortunately after several years of financial struggles and an increasing amount of debt, THQ declared Chapter 11 bankruptcy in December 2012 and began liquidating its assets the following month, with several properties either being acquired by third parties or auctioned off to other developers. The FUUB project was never completed.
