As you probably know, we are working on the Unseen64 book, that will contain updated versions of some of the articles that we have in the website with new info on those cancelled games, some articles on new lost games and interviews with various developers. Here's a short preview with new info about the unreleased Playstation version of Too Human, one of the most interesting lost games from Silicon Knights, started in the early '90 and released many years later, on the Xbox 360. Enjoy!

"Question: Do you remember if Sony was supporting the game with funds? Someone else told us that Sony was helping with the development, and when Nintendo make a partnership with Silicon Knights, they lost everything

Answer: Sony was supporting the game. Nintendo was on board and that did change the publisher dynamic.

Question: Another interesting info that we received is that before to be a full 3D third person action game, Too Human was started as a top-down action game, still in 3D but with a visual more similar to Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain. Do you remember anything about this?

Answer: the ingame portion actually started life as a 3/4 top down shooter. With polygonal characters on pre-rendered backgrounds. (Sort of like Smash TV.) It was not a full 3D game when I got there. I personally felt that the 3/4 top down was a better decision because full 3D looked so horrible due to the polygon and texture limitations on the Playstation 1. Resident Evil 1 had allocated all of the polygons for the ingame characters and weapons and used beautiful pre-rendered backgrounds. This was clever. Switching to full 3D for Too Human did not make for a very good looking game."
