For 1$+ Patrons: as we wrote a few days ago, thanks to your support we were able to rise enough donations to pay the Unseen64 server till the end of 2016!

Before to start to rise donations to pay the server for 2017 (it's a bit early probably and we'll have to wait for our provider to tell us how much it will cost for that year, depending on how many visitors the site will get in 2016) we'll collect future donations in a "Preservation Fund" to be used for other Unseen64 related needs.

Here are what we tough to use future donations for:

- Print and shipping cost for the Unseen64 book to send it to authors that are helping us to write the articles that will be included. As we are trying to spend as less as possible to create this book, we tough to send a copy of the book to who will write at least a few good articles. We estimate about 10 copies of the book, with a cost of about 15 or 20 $ each for printing and shipping to those 10 authors all around the world: total cost, about 200$

- Start to pay the external contributors to write more great articles for the website: sites like HardcoreGaming 101 pay their authors about 15 / 25$ for each great article that they publish, for now the main Unseen64 staff write new articles for free, but we could find more editors and update the site more often if we offer to pay them. Naturally paid articles from external editors should follow some quality and length guidelines before to be paid, to be sure that the cost is worth the result.

- A new professional microphone to record better video docs and podcasts: about 120$

- Keep the rest in a fund for site emergencies (for example if the site goes down and we need to pay someone to fix it) and for the future server cost

before to use donations we ask for your opinions: what do you think about these projects? Which one would be ok for you and do you have other interesting suggestions to improve the Unseen64 archive?

I prefer that you invest the money in the microphone and the materials needed to make better podcasts and videos. They're pretty cool and a better sound quality would make it more enjoyable.
