Eric's a moron in this subject more than any other. This is the episode that solidified it. Way too old fashioned in his way of thinking when it comes to a woman's role to be a wife and homemaker moreso than understand Donna is not that kind of girl. She has dreams bigger than Eric's of "raising a family" . They're in high school. Eric's wild to expect it anyway. Idc if its the 70s lol

eric is such a dumbass. he has a consistent problem with thinking donna's wants are going to conform to his wants and just doing what he wants without really considering her, assuming she'll be fine with it, or go along with it. i get it's the times but c'mon eric lol

I do think people are a little unfair on the character during parts of the show for certain things. He isn't meant to be "right" of course, but it's the 70s during a rapidly changing society. Parts of modern society exist as we know it, but are not entirely the norm and are coexisting with older ideas. Most generations are a little different than their parents, but at this point the world is far more so than normal compared to everything he has been brought up from a young age with, that formed everything he is and how he understands things. It's a conflict that wouldn't have been simple and one the show is exploring a little bit of. He has to go through these things, being everything from partly wrong to entirely an idiot about different things, and learn and adapt to how things are changing.
