i love the part where pembleton says (paraphrasing here) he's like a silver-tongued salesman, and what he's selling is a life sentence that his customer has no use for. i didn't watch this when it originally aired, but i've wanted to for many years, since i read the book that inspired it. i finally broke down and bought the dvd set in a black friday sale last year and i'm in season 5 now. it's been really interesting to see how different and innovative this show was for its time, and to recognize its influence on shows that came later. thanks to whomever requested it!
