Even though it seemed like 4x22 was kinda a series finale in ways, as maybe ratings started to go down slightly and they weren’t sure if it’d be picked up for a 5th, I then feel like they got the notice of renewal after doing 4x22, and maybe producers said, well now we need some cliffhanger to lead into the next season and that’s where 4x23 came from. That’s what I think anyways. And pacey’s whole boat thing was for just the summer, that guy from worthington invited him on his boat for the summer. When worthington school started that meant paceys travels ended also, and cause that guy was working at worthington, that’s why Pacey is in Boston I believe. It’s not that they brought him back for no reason.
