This episode did indeed show Angel (Or well Liam as he was called as a human) turn into Angelus. I really loved this episode and the flashbacks. To me, I think Liam turned into Angelus because Liam had quite a bit of anger and frustration growing up with his father, and Darla really encouraging his cruelty... It may just be me, but I'm not sure that if he'd not had Darla as sire and mentor/teacher, he might have ended up quite as bad as he did now... but thats just what I've recently be thinking about. I don't really know why.
