Let’s be clear - Mitch was fired for sexual misconduct. Enough women came forward with their stories and an internal investigation was done and the complaints were found to be verifiable/of merit. UBA the network) and the Morning Show, basically, have to protect their asses. Most people who are working and writing copy, including Alex herself, have no clue what the contents are of the investigation or who exactly the women are. But it is wise (and just decent) to support the women who came forward, and to not look like they’re covering up anything/being an apologist for Mitch. Only Mitch has used the word consensual. Just because he believes that it was consensual, does not at all mean that it was. Abuse of power does play a large role here and can make it possible to be coerced and Mitch just could not be acknowledging that. Clearly, he’s engaged in a lot of inappropriate sexual relationships at his place of work and it is possible that he did have consensual relationships with some women, but that doesn’t mean that all of them were consensual. Honestly, Based on Mitch’s tirade in this episode alone, I’m inclined not to trust anything he says. He clearly has a warped view of sex and power and openly admitted to using his power to get sex. That’s just my two cents.
