this episode is bonkers and is prob my least favorite but i do love darren with cash's grandma. darren annoyed me a lot this episode and i'm glad you called it out. cash is TRYING and this new for him. this storyline and conflict is one i think isn't written well. it's like when queer stories have someone try to force their partner to come out and get angry when they dont. that's not realistic and those stories get a lot of pushback from lgbt+ fans because anyone who is lgbt+ should be understanding how scary of a thing it is. it's a personal choice to come out or label yourself etc and no one should push anyone to do so. to me it's not very realistic but i guess because darren is so loudly themselves the writers thought they wouldn't be understanding of someone not being the same? idk. my heart breaks for cash. he just needs some patience and empathy.
