I think you're 100% right: the food truck story line is one of the series' few mistakes in the course of its run. It was introduced with no preparation (suddenly out of nowhere this is something everyone knew Charles was going to do, and Amy was investing), there were few if any episodes that even mentioned it, and then they shut it down with this. I've never found any inside info about it; my guess it was one of those story ideas that seemed good in the abstract (Charles's food obsession is well established) but didn't actually lead to any engaging script ideas.

2023-11-06 13:48:05 i personally didnt mind the food truck thing because its a work show and I feel like a lot of the personal things can be left out but still sometimes impact the character, but I definitely understand wanting youto use it more!
