idk how i feel about this episode. a lot of fans see eric as being ADHD. it's valid for someone to not want to "grind" and for them to want to have a simple, quiet life. maybe he'd have thrived in that environment. all i know is for me personally, i can't have a typical job. i much prefer something simple that allows me the mental energy to come home and keep up with housework and my hobbies vs something i'd wear myself thin doing. i think this episode highlights a very 90s-early 2000s mindset that college is the one and only way. a career is the one and only way. eric doesn't thrive in "typical" settings but he may have thrived in a small town doing something handy etc vs more schoolwork or a 9-5. that's just my two cents.

Hey! Appreciate your words at the end of this. So many people go through similar things after high school or at 18. Those who know exactly what they want to do and those who aren’t sure but have no time to try and figure it out and end up settling. I know I’m in a flux. I know the things I want to do, worried it might be “too late” for me, don’t have the money or time to go back to school. I don’t know I’m still trying to figure it out. But I think it’s so much to expect teenagers to figure it all out so soon. I’m happy you found it in geeked out nation though! Even if it is for a few hours a day, or whatever it may be. Doing something that you enjoy is awesome!
