I think two of the main reasons this show did so well and is thought of so fondly of is the music and the fact that it is very clever while not "talking down" to younger kids. Kids of most age groups and adults can enjoy it. To me it is similar to Animaniacs in that way. Glad you are enjoying so far.

I'll admit, I was worried that this show wouldn't hit the same as an adult, but my gosh... it is just one hit after the other. Even when episodes aren't perfect, they're still sooooo entertaining. I loved that Doofenshmirtz in the first episode literally created an invention called the SLAVEenator, and used it so people could celebrate his birthday party with him lol What a very sad life indeed. I did burst out laughing when he began his backstory saying that his parents didn't show up to his birth. Like, that's such a funny thing to write into a show lol But even something that could feel "kiddie" like having Buford and Phineas do a thumb war, was still somehow sooooo enthralling lol But if this episode taught me anything, Ferb is about that action! And yeah, I totally felt bad for Candace haha, but even that was interesting because with all of Phineas and Ferb's wicked intelligence and creativity, they are still just kids who have dumb ideas and don't ~ actually ~ know what they're doing.

The show just keeps getting funnier. A quote from Dan & Swampy that have stuck with me is when they were asked in an interview about how they manage to make a show for kids that still appeals to adults and their answer yes "who said it was for kids?". P&F is a show that is aimed at kids in some respects, yes, but it's not necessarily just for them, and Dan & Swampy are more interested in showing what they personally find funny. It's the secret to the show's universal appeal and why it's consistently one of the few Disney shows to have an audience of almost all adults.
