gonna be honest, maybe its just cause i'm around the same age as billie, but i don't find what she does in her videos weird at all. i think it should be pretty obvious why she became so popular. her voice and way she sings her songs is super unique, and her aesthetic is/(was?) something new and interesting. i don't even listen to billie but i'd be able to know her voice anywhere because nobody else right now sounds like her.

Actually, bad guy was the first song I ever heard by Billie Eilish. She apparently had super popular music before, from her EP, but bad guy was the first time she came on my radar and I think that’s true for a lot of people. It kind of blew her up in a different way, as it literally became one of the most successful hits of last decade. I think she does appeal to young people since she’s a young person, but generally she has a very unique voice, her music feels fresh and doesn’t sound like anything else out, and she has a fun aesthetic that you wouldn’t expect from a pop star. I hadn’t really heard anything like bad guy before on the radio. I would also say her lyrics are incredibly interesting. I hope to be able to attend a live the next time you react to her, but yeah, we should do something off of her EP. Sonically, I don’t think it’s that much different than her debut album though.

You should check out "bury a friend", you might like it better but yeah her videos might be weird lol some are dark as well. Honestly, many songs on this specific album are really good. Also her first album is amazing! She has a lot of great songs honestly and her aesthetic is unique which is probably why she is so popular. She has a gorgeous voice too, like her song "ocean eyes" is beautiful, I recommend it.

So, I know this is late. But I think Billie Eilish doesn’t do anything without a reason. This isn’t weirdness for weirdness sake. She’s calling herself a bad guy. She’s saying I do what I want. But also, she’s in an industry that is known for sexualizing children. There are dad bods, and men being fed milk, and bruises on her knees because she’s engaging in things beyond her maturity level. The way the song ends, it’s misleading. She’s on small tricycles and what’s the big comfy couch carpet show we used to watch? There’s a disconnect between the youth of it all and the sexual nature of the song. If you listen to her later albums it’s clear she’s been through some stuff, and sometimes the only way you can cope is accept the label that’s been placed on you. Keep listening to her songs if nothing else because she has a beautiful voice and she’s one of those artists that grows with each album.
