I love Out Of The Woods! I remember when I first listened to it (I was very young) I didn't like it much because of how repetitive it was. But I can't even imagine not liking it now. It's one of my favourites. 1989 is one of my favourite albums. Definitely the one that got me into Taylor properly. (Again, I was really young. By young I mean 12, but I've never been a huge music person...) I of course knew a lot of other songs of hers. But 1989 is THE album for me. Really got me into her. Blank Space was my favourite song for a long time. I had the CD (which was very rare for me. Only other CD's I'd ever had were JLS ones...) and listened to it all the time.

The repetitive "Are we out fo the woods" creates this feeling of anxiety in the listener. Are we out of the woods is actually an idiom for "are we out of the hard times, are we okay now", so in this relationship (this song is theorized to be about Harry Styles) she was always feeling anxious about them and if they were in the clear, especially because when she dated Harry they were both hounded constantly by paparazzi (which is represented by the wolves in this MV, no matter where she went they followed her)
