I Am Not Chamari

This episode referenced the beltway shooter, which is also probably the shooter you were talking about. I think they were two men who killed ~17 people. The older one was executed and the younger one is serving several consecutive life sentences without the chance of parole. They shot out of their trunk. The white van joke was because the white van ended up being a red herring in that investigation because witnesses reported seeing a white van around the crime scenes and that’s what people ended up looking for at first, although they actually were driving a blue sedan. Also, the serial killer with initials you mentioned before you began the episode I think is BTK? Stands for Bind, Tie, Kill. I think the significant thing for me about Garcia is that she CAN be light and fun. Sure, she has to look up disconcerting things on the daily, but she also is far enough removed from it, that her playful attitude makes sense to me. She also does her job very well and I think that’s the most important thing - that she can still be herself and work at this crazy intense level. So yes, the show is dark, but Garcia is a break from the darkness, with a literal distance from the field! And Hotch finally proved himself to you! Haha I knew he would come through! And you’ve already noticed a sort of brotherly bond between Morgan and Reid, which is a nice thing to catch early on!

Has anyone mentioned yet that the actor that plays Gideon is also Inigo Montoya from The Princess Bride?

YES, about Garcia. She is such an important character to have. Because while other characters do have fun moments, even without her there, she's the one who can bring those moments most often. And she's not just a break from the darkness for us viewers, but for the Team as well. They see so much horror out in the field, they have to go through so much. But then they call Garcia for help with a tech related thing, and she answers the phone with a nickname, or a quip, and she's always light and bubbly despite what she's got to look up, and the way she tells them these horrible things. She doesn't make light of the situation, but she tells them in such a way that you'd almost think she's not used to reading these horrible things. And then they come back from these horrible cases to her waiting for them, whether she leaves her Office or not, she's there. She's the light, and she's such an important part of the show. Because I think without her, the Team would just get lost in the darkness that is their job...

One of my favourite episodes of season 1. I only rated it 7-8 though as I've seen every season and there are some great and some amazing episodes to come

So one thing to know about this show is its not really a whos done it like other crime shows. This isnt the show where you try to guess the unsub before the end. There are episodes like that, Broken Mirror being one of them but this one you dont see the unsub for the first time until right before they tell us its him. Then there are episodes where we might know the unsub the whole time. Also this is not the kind of show to give you a lot of character info all at once. they like to sprinkle it in. So some info you might miss because its just a line but it does add up.
