Howdy ladies and gents, so I am planning on recording 4 shows tonight. Smallville, One Tree Hill, Criminal Minds and White Collar.

I'm debating If I should do this live or just record them like normal.

I'm still trying to see if people will be upset if I recorded things live and then posted the videos up after like normal. I would delete the VOD of the twitch stream after we were done with the Live Stream.

I want to be able to engage with the community more life but I am worried about things like Spoilers and upsetting those who pay here on Patreon.

if reading comments live is gonna distract you from the show then i don’t want live

Richard isley

I don't see anything wrong with you doing it live, it's really cool and engaging plus u delete the vod anyway and it still gets posted to Patreon

Omar Vargas

Just record them like normal

Jojo77

I'm around and cool with it. I'd likely at least stop in.

thisismaria27

I think that is a great idea. sadly I'm european so timezone wise I won't be able to join but I don't mind either way :)

Robke

I agree if you split focus and try to communicate with viewers while watching something, this would be too distracting, unless you pause to do this. If you watch live while fully focused on the show I don't see a problem, it's gonna show up on patreon anyway.

I Am Not Chamari

I’ve really enjoyed the last couple of live events you’ve done! It’s really such a good way to engage with you.

Asaunte

Honestly he often gets distracted with his phone anyway so at least the comments are about the show he's watching

I Am Not Chamari

Asaunte, I was thinking the same thing. Attending a couple of prior live events, I can vouch for the fact that his focus isn’t pulled away from the show, more than it normally is. It’s actually nice to answer questions for him while he’s watching!

Jtozee

He seems to do really well not getting distracted I was their for scream and icarly watch along and it seemed like his normal reactions

Sonia Deepak

The only concern I have about the live stream is the possibility of the live comments ending up distracting you from the show, and that you may end up confused or missing something important. But that’s currently just a possibility. If you can follow the show without really missing stuff then I don’t have any objections to the live stream since you will delete the VOD.

jamie cane

Can't wait to see your ICarly reaction was at a wedding when you went live I couldn't listen but you did both victorious and icarly zoey 101 then those are my top3 nickolden shows

dmasterxd

Not a fan tbh. Don't really like people trying to force in their two cents during reactions. I only care about your commentary and thoughts, not the chat's.

Robke

I love the possibility of answering questions during the reaction, so many times reactors end up confused for the entire episode which is less fun for both sides. If it works out, keep doing it, if not, go back to usual. I couldn't care less if content is posted on other platforms as long as it ends up here.

I was in for the Scream and iCarly lives and i really enjoyed you interacting with the chat and community as we don’t get to communicate with Steven in the comment section often, it’s more of a conversation which I enjoy. If anything, I feel like he paid more attention to the show(s) during the live stream rather than normal full reaction. I think it is fair, but to prevent otherpeople from being unhappy, I would just say do this every other week or maybe once a month and try to spread out the episode live reactions. So for example like Victorious 3x15 would have a live reaction saturday, would get posted on thursday, and the next live reaction would be 3x19, I wouldn’t have an issue with that. If it becomes more frequently throughout shows/episodes, I could see more people having an issue with it

CallingCollins

I've been there for the live and Steven hasn't gotten distracted by the comments at all. I think this is a great idea, especially since you'll have both options (live and recorded VOD for patreon). I also think it will help with organization. Like you said, having a schedule for these things. So you have a more manageable work day. Ultimately, I say do a combination of what the majority wants and what you think is best. I'll be there for the lives, but I'll also be here either way!

Raquel Perodin

Aw I didn’t get to see the lives, will it be posted?

dmasterxd

Oh and forgot to mention spoilers is a huge concern. Along with trolls who will come in just to spoil you, there are also gonna be people who do it unintentionally by responding to something you're only asking rhetorically. Then there are the people who think they're being slick by hinting at future events...Just way too much of a risk.

Jonathan

The lives from the weekend worked fine. I’m not as worried about him getting distracted because if he misses something the comments could help

Sofie

As I live in Europe I wouldn't be able to see the live streams. I would love for an option for you to keep the live streams for like like a week or 24 hours so that those of us who live in different time zones- or just can't get to it that day can see it later. I feel that I would be missing something, extra commentary from you, or something. But otherwise, I am fine with it as the Patreon will still be available.

Sofie

Aslo I think I would only really enjoy it for "filler episodes". Big epsiodes, or season premieres and finales I don't think I would enjoy live. I would want you more focused on those episodes so that you don't miss anything or have you accidentally spoiled or swayed in some way. Like maybe for those saying you are going to watch at a certain time and then go live to discuss that episode. I would have gotten up at 5am to join a live stream of you talking about the end of Buffy or Gilmore Girls, for example. I really like how other reactors do tier lists and questions at the end of seasons/series, and I get the feeling that that is not really your jam, which is totally okay. But maybe doing it in a live stream might make it more enticing and a good way for community interaction.

Jonathan Giles

Spoilers seem like a massive issue. Maybe you should stick to gaming streams...... If you can find a way of negating spoilers it's a great idea.

Robke

Is that really so risky? If people wanted to spoil they would do that here in the comments, so far I've only seen unintentional spoilers when they overshare their opinions which indicates what's gonna happen next xD

Thomas Becker

the only real issue i see would be spoilers, if the stream is open to the public. certain shows you watch could really suffer from spoilers. but i'm not gonna name em because spoilers....

Thomas Becker

but we all pay here to watch the reaction. so we don't spoil our own entertainment. in a public stream that risk would be a lot higher. but i guess it would depend on the type of show.

Robke

Ohh I see. I wasn't sure if non patreon members would have access

peyten

live reactions would be cool if you posted them here on patreon after! but if not then no cause a lot of people would never get to see them but be paying still
