Spinner really has no character development this season at all, but he will get some really great storylines along the way. If you can get through season 1 then you can enjoy the rest of the show. There is still some interesting and entertaining stuff in this season though. It becomes a lot more interesting when the 8th grade goes to 9th grade in season 2, and the current grade 7's to 9th grade in season 3. The high school storylines are far more interesting and dramatic than what we are currently getting, but this season is still good to watch to get to know the characters before all of their major storylines in the future. In my opinion all of the seasons after this are far more entertaining, and it's good that this is the shortest season.

season 2 is when things really start to get more interesting and the more serious topics start. don’t worry about the grades after jt and emma and the rest are done w junior high the rest of the show is about just high schoolers and ur going to watch these kids and other kids grow up. they’re young now but they really start to get older around season 3. as for the older kids they obviously get older faster.

Season 1 is such a great foundation for what’s to come. Especially when it comes to characters like Sean, (bad boy introduced this episode) Emma, and Paige. Seeing these characters as they are now… wow. Makes me so look forward to seeing how your thoughts about them change and shift as the seasons go on. Paige, in particular, plays the role of the “mean girl” so so well and she’s never been my favorite character per se, but it’s so fun to watch her be devious. But this show puts everyone through the ringer, so things are tame now to keep it a little lighter, but man, there are stories, that match, or even surpass the intensity of that first episode that are on the horizon as soon as next season! This season still 1000% has some great material, but, when you come out of the gate like they did with the pilot, it’s expected for the intensity to be turned down 500 notches lol

honestly enjoy the lightheartedness of this season because it does not stay😭 it seems the older the characters get the more they go through lol. this season is good to kind of get to know these characters and get used to how it all works at school and what not and establish a lot of friendships and some relationships but it doesn’t really go further than that. season 2 is almost like immediately jumping into the serious stuff. but yeah just enjoy how chill it is right now . you do definitely have lighthearted moments those don’t go away it’s just they’re mixed into some really heavy stuff and the show is never as calm and slow as this season again. i am really excited to see ur reaction to these characters storylines and developments and how much ur overall thoughts of the show change. this season is short so i would just rush through and to get to the more interesting stuff.

honestly i dont blame him. I am hispanic and as a kid i thought she was too until we met her parents properly lol. Her name is Manuela Santos, which is a very hispanic name, but i think sometimes filipino people have names that sound hispanic too?

I know it's slow right now, but i think that's the charm of it. I often watch this season cause it makes me smile at how innocent they once were...i feel like a parent going "aw, they were so cute...just kids going to dances and watching porn for the first time" lol. It's a bit odd, but it's pretty wholesome and you really care about the kids and it makes what they go through hurt more. even characters you don't like. The story arches are amazing and even if i dislike a character, i always feel bad for them cause you see other sides to them and they really grow as people. And the kiddy-ness certain goes away cause even when new casts are introduced, they start around age 15 instead of 12/13 like they are here. The school changes into regular high school instead of middle school. It's better of course, cause then the cast remains 14-18, but the show never really goes back to this wholesome vibe fully. They do have some lighthearted storylines, but they're usually just the b-storylines.
