A truly fantastic episode. A couple of thoughts: So the age of consent in Pennsylvania is ~ technically ~ 16, so, unfortunately, Ezra and Aria being together isn’t illegal, just immoral on Ezra’s part. What is illegal is that he was her teacher when they were together, but he’s currently not. I also imagine Aria’s parents are trying to think of the implications of pressing charges/having Ezra arrested. They’re probably thinking they might lose their daughter forever and that she will never forgive them, which is in alignment to how Aria would behave, I fear. Additionally, this was their peer they have come to respect. They probably need time to process that betrayal. Also, Ella wasn’t insinuating that what happened was ~ okay ~ She was saying that Aria got into a relationship with a teacher around the time she came home and had to more directly deal with her father’s affair with HIS student. She was pointing out where she might have learned it from. We should hate on Byron a bit more for what he did in my opinion lol but yeah, I still agree, I would have immediately called the cops lmao Also, I can’t believe they’re giving Jackie this horrible villain arc when she was 100% right. She was a little harsh and threatened by Aria, sure, but she literally stated factual information about Ezria’s relationship and that ENRAGED Ezra. Literally, screw him. He’s the worst. Toby was doing a little too much this episode in my opinion, but I guess it shows that he still cares about Spencer, so that’s always nice. Caleb came back for the wedding and then went back to California. It has been a few months since 2x12 and 2x14, so that’s why there’s a bit of a time lapse (and a haircut!)

one of the reasons why Ezra hasn't gotten arrested yet is because hes a fan favorite at this point in the show. So therefore, they aren't gonna do anything to fully get him off the show. The reason why someone would want to hurt the girls is i think because while yes, they didn't do anything mean to anyone that they were sweet and nice girls...But they also never did anything to stop ali from doing horrible things to people. they didn't say no to her, they didn't stop her from calling people names etc. So i think that's why they're being targeted.

there's also been moments where you see them join in with allie and her bullying. maybe not to the same extent, but it was kind of this "i'll go along with it so i'm not on the receiving end of it" kind of thing. they didn't do anything to stop her. they'd laugh at her cruel jokes she'd make, or join in with her when she'd taunt people. they never actively stood up against her and from an outside perspective, it looks bad. like there's more of them than there are of her. i know abusive relationships and friendships are nuanced but to someone in this universe looking in on their friendship might be like "why didn't y'all just stand up against her??" so i think a lot of people might see the girls as sharing equal blame for the things done against them at allison's hand.
