2023-05-04 02:50:16 One of my favorite episodes of the series!! Xander-centric episodes are some of my favorites because I feel we finally get to see him. He's so underappreciated and pushed into the back of storylines, and it's sad. I love that we get to see him save the world numerous times (remember he saved the world by saving Buffy in the S1 finale) using nothing but his human knowledge and love. I'll never understand the Xander hate, he's the most realistic one out of the bunch and displays again and again his heart and love for his family (his friend group). ❤️

Might be my least fav episode of the series lol. Could be an unpopular opinion but Xander's not a fav of mine. He's an incel. I kinda always felt like they wrote this episode to "redeem" Xander after the whole cheating thing. Unnecessary and unrealistic painting him as some sort of misunderstood guy stumbling his way into heroism as the "normal" person in the friend group.

I do like the episode , but I agree about Xander . I liked him at the beginning of the show , but the more I watched , the more I disliked him .

Weirdly enough, I 100% agree with you about Xander - worst character of the show by far imo - but I still adore this episode. I just love the meta quality it has. Xander walking in on all those highly dramatic "end of the world" moments felt like the show acknowledging how it can seem to outsiders. The comedy in this one was just so on-point, imo.

Completely agree! I mean Xander has his faults, but so did everyone in the show. It's easy only to look at the bad stuff, like some people seem to do. Xander is the only one of the group without special abilities, yet he is always jumping to help his friends. Willow cheated too, but no one seems that upset like they are with Xander. There was also the thing with Buffy, he was upset for a while at the rejection and he's obv jealous of Angel, but he is still a good friend to Buffy when she really needs it. And let's face it, most of the time, he doesn't get the respect he deserves for everything good he's done, but always gets all the blame when he's made mistakes.
