I put up a post asking for Glee Replacement and we got almost 200 Comments. I went through all of the comments and made this poll with the shows that I saw the most on it.

A few shows I am not sure about because they are insanely long commitments(Grays Anatomy, Bones, Criminal Minds,911 I might wait for the end of House to do those if they win this poll)

Here are the current shows and the categories that I think they fall under.

  • Gossip Girl - Teen/Rom/Drama
  • Vampire Diaries - Teen/Rom/Supernatural/Horror
  • Fringe - Procedural/Sci-Fi
  • Agents of Shield - Superhero/Sci-Fi
  • Charmed - Supernatural/Rom
  • Wizards - Kids/Comedy
  • Suite Life - Kids/Comedy
  • Victorious - Kids/Comedy
  • B99 - Comedy
  • Office - Comedy
  • House - Medical/Procedural
  • White Collar - Procedural/Crime

Ugly Betty is great

Also with stuff that’s on this poll maybe you could do like Julie and the phantoms first since it’s only eight episodes then jump into whatever wins this poll or whatever show is super short that’s also on this poll you could do just a thought bc The music in Julie and the phantoms is amazing I think you would love it and it’s musical like glee

madeline z

grey’s anatomy!!!

Robke

I think when it comes to super long shows, 8 seasons +, perhaps you should create a poll on how many seasons you will commit to watching. Cause most long shows do go downhill or change a lot, I sincerely doubt all partons voting for it would stick til the end, so maybe it would be a good idea to ask first how many seasons are worth watching. Later if you like it and the demand is still there, you can continue. Just a suggestion, and it might avoid disappointment from people who expect you to react to the whole thing

Robke

There were a lot more suggestions that didn't make it to the poll. Would they be in the next ones?

Asaunte

God i hope Degrassi wins. I've been waiting for someone to react to it for so long

sn

pls no greys or criminal minds they’re way too long

Jeremy Burch

I love Degrassi, but I was kind of hoping he would replace Glee with a musical type series, since Glee was a musical and he doesn't have any other musical show he reacts to regularly.

GeekedOutNation

This list was with ones I have seen the most in that comments section and others that were high on polls.

Anonymous

Really love criminal minds such a good show

Bianca Foushee

Would love if you watched degrassi!!!

Jojo77

Oh. Um, I personally try not to re list programs that were already listed so as not to make the comments overwhelming for you. Do others do this as well?

Eddie

Hoping it’s Greys Anatomy!

Kelsey McGuire

If you do Criminal Minds I honestly think you could watch through season 6 or 7 and feel like you finished it. Season 5 is best though.

Rose Smith

after house do greys anathony and after wizards do jane the virgin but right now replace glee with degrassi

GeekedOutNation

I think with these long series thats the best option. Find the common best season and end at the top vs stumbling to the end.

Nyssa Rawther 🍉

Why is Heartstopper in this poll? I thought it already won a poll? I remember asking in a comment and you replied that it was gonna be reacted to after Cobra Kai. Now we have to vote again when it's in such a generalised genre poll? Bit unfair...but oh well.

Jana Fuller

I watch another reactor and they just started grey's anatomy he will only commit to 2/3 seasons at a time and then we will go from there

Jana Fuller

I'm really hoping for Degrassi tho!!!

Nina Man

I was just thinking that degrassi would be something I want to see!

emily ღ

i kinda think with replacement shows, we should go for something similar. so like, for example, glee - degrassi as a replacement house - grey's as a replacement another procedural - bones or criminal minds as a replacement i first suggested degrassi in the comments because i thought we'd go that route. but seeing how grey's and criminal minds are up for replacements, now i'm torn on what to pick

vince

Degrassi!!! No one is currently reacting to it I feel like it would bring in a ton of new people and it's also the perfect show to have conversations in the comments and to talk to you about what is going on in the episodes

Michel Stephany Garces

This is us is actually pretty amazing. It probably won’t win by the looks of it but omggg I hope some day you do watch it

Anna Mercado

I would really like Empire. Replace a musical show with another one.

Sofie

I don’t understand the people complaining saying that criminal minds, greys and bones are too long yet push for degrassi which is just as long as all those shows. It has 350+ episodes it a very long show….

Angie

to be fair, degrassi is a 24 minute type of show. That makes it around the same if you divide it by two, but they never do more than one episode a week so sadly it'll take twice as long.

Melissa

Love the idea of grey's and since it's winning so far there are a few places where I think you could consider ending early. Maybe around Season 11/12 or 14 depending on how invested you are in certain storylines. Personally, though, I think the show "falls off" end of season 17. By that time the majority of the OG characters and even the second round of OG characters that came in around Season 6/7ish had left and Season 18 was a covid season. Ellen Pompeo (the main main character) leaves in Season 19. All this to say that 12, 14, and 17 seasons are still really long but at least it's not the 20 seasons of the actual show. Any kind of easter egg updates on off-screen characters that happen after you stop can definitely just be relayed by comments so that you get the closure or end-game knowledge without having to sit through all 20 seasons.

nj

i voted along these lines - shows i like and think would be a somewhat similar tone to glee. i'd love to see dollhouse or bones on the channel, but they don't seem as logical a replacement for glee as another musical or h.s. show. (of course, i'm ancient, so i'd totally support original flavor degrassi.)

Kelsey McGuire

I was confused with this as well. Like which Degrassi era are we talking about? The one with Paige, Jimmy, Emma, Craig and Manny? Then end when Emma and Manny go to college? The ones with Clare, Ali, and Eli? Then end when they graduate? Or the ones with Maya, Tristian, Zig and Miles that ends on Netflix? All of them?

emily ღ

maybe i'm confused but i don't understand the discussion about starting a show and then stopping it at a particular season. why start a show to not watch it all the way through and see where the chracters end up? maybe that's me, but i couldn't go into a show with the minder of stopping it before the end. i don't think i'd let myself be as invested in the characters and their story if i was planning to watch for a bit and then stop.

Robke

I agree, but then there are shows like Greys anatomy. I looked it up ant it's 400 episodes total, so if done 1 per week it's gonna take around 8 years to complete!! That's insanity, and since shows which run that long tend to almost become a different show by the end of it, it's not really fair to expect them to stick around that long as I'm quite sure most ppl voting for it won't, comments confirm this. I really want him to watch ER which is also super long, but no more than first few seasons, I wonder how many ER fans would agree.

Kelsey McGuire

And plus spending around 8 years to complete a show that only a portion of his Patreons want will end up taking more time( to possible cycle through quicker than 8 years) and they could ultimately end up losing people and money because it’s taking too long for something other people want to show up. I think a good compromise would be go till the shows peak and then do requested episodes/storylines for the remaining seasons. That way the fans are still getting the show, but it doesn’t end taking over the channel. If that at all made sense. She explained in a hopefully respectful way.

Lena Oertel

Really hoping for 911. It's in fifths place right now, but the ones before 911 are so long

blugirlami21

I too wish this was open to a like minded genre of music show only. Empire would have been fantastic. I know people want him to do long series but it takes too much time.

vince

Degrassi has somewhere around 360 episodes if you start from Next Generation. There is also a spin-off after Next Generation which has an additional 40 episodes so let's just say it has 400 episodes in total. If this does win the poll I think it would be a good idea to react to the Part 1 and Part 2 episodes together as they tie together and also 400 episodes would take 7-8 years to do, so reacting to the 2 part episodes together should at LEAST cut that in half as almost half the show are Part 1 and Part 2 episodes. The episodes are only 22 minute each, so reacting to Part 1 and Part 2 together would make it the length of a Glee episode basically. You could get through the OG seasons at a fair rate, but once Degrassi moved to TeenNick they started to have 40+ episode seasons so from Season 10-14 that would be almost 200 episodes which is basically half the show, that's also when they started doing 2 part episodes for the entire season

vince

Well Next Generation as a whole has all of those characters at one point so if he manages to keep watching then I guess all of them would be correct, just start from S1E1 with the OG's. And if he wants to continue he could even do the spinoff on Netflix. If he does end up reacting to the Part 1 and Part 2 episodes together, it would take him 3-4 years to finish rather than 7-8

Merissa Childress

Greys anatomy is winning but it’s sooo long and the episodes are an hour

emily ღ

i still don't really understand. i mean, length wise i kind of get it, but other patreons do the entirety of a show. i guess it's because they react to so many. i've just never heard of it being done like this. otherwise, snd i am trying to say this respectfully, it's like, what's the point really? i've been on this patreon for awhile. i've seen the start of super natural which is still being reacted to as well as the office. i've seen psych completeted here as well. those are long shows. i think it'd be better to react to a handful of long shows with 2-3 episodes a week and commit to that than so many shows all at once that it's hard to balance and certain ones only get reactions up to a certain season and then disappear. like whose to say when a show is over and done? for me i quit watching glee at season 2 or 3. as did many others. but there's still so many people who love the show and stand by the further seasons so idk. i just am the type to want everyone to win but idk how that would be possible. i'm sure whatever they decide it'll work out though.

Robke

I totally get it what you mean. I joined for Nikita, and it never got finished even though Steven enjoyed the show. Now there's a possibility House will stop so close to the end even though there's many interesting things to come and I'd love to see the reaction to the show ending. I see in the comments there's quite a few shows that got stopped, I get why it kinda doesn't make sense cuz we watch show for the stories and the characters so we wanna know how it all turns out, but they watch some shows purely because those shows get requested. Consuming so many of them at the same time probably reduces the investment in some stories so it's no big deal to stop few of them. But on the other hand if this keeps happening there will be increasing number of complaints, people will always bring up these shows asking if they will come back, and now patrons also become worried if their new favorite won't last as long as they wish it did. I agree it would be better to perhaps do longer shows in a way so they don't drag for too long but still get finished, this would work out well long term for the channel, but again, if the reactor then doesn't enjoy it at all and it's a total drag for them to sit through the episodes, it won't be enjoyable to watch even if they finish and I do not want them to feel like this. It should stay fun and interesting for the reactors. If a show stops then it stops, it's sad for the most hardcore fans who loved it all the way through but they're usually the minority.

Kelsey McGuire

Maybe they should do a small break in between seasons like they would if they were currently running shows. Then they can kinda ping pong back and forth between 2 shows. Like he would watch season 1 of Grey’s, then watch season 1 of Degrassi. Then go back to Grey’s etc etc. Idk if that might be a viable option.

Ariyon King

Criminal Minds is SO GOOD! I feel like making multiple accounts just to get the numbers up. Even though Grays is winning I feel like Criminal Minds has no bad seasons and each episode is different and focuses on the overall theme of solving cases

Ariyon King

Also, EMPIRE IS great and I would love if you continued Everybody Hates Chris! That show is HILARIOUS and I loved your reaction!

Lexsi (canyonlwt28)

honestly i think you should wait until u finish house and also supernatural to start greys and criminal minds. they’re so long. i would try to get some of the shorter shows out of the way first. i’d love for u to do degrassi it’s like a teen show that was on nick at night i believe and it’s also canadian. the show is also super long but the episodes are way shorter so u can film more. the show touches on a ton of serious topics and it has its little cheesy corny moments and it might take u a lil to get into but once u start connecting t the characters i think you’d like it. i love the show. so if u wait to start criminal minds and greys id love to see degrassi. i’m actually surprised it got so many votes bc literally nobody ever reacts to the show. and also degrassi would be the perfect replacement for glee. there’s not many similarities but to me at least there’s a similar vibe (at times). also a thing to know about degrassi is there’s an og version from the 80’s now u don’t need to watch it to understand anything but many of the parents from the 80’s are in the early season of next generation and then the characters from the end of next generation move to the next class on netflix so idk it’s debatable if u need to watch that. but next generation is 14 seasons long around 22 min episodes so it is a big commitment like criminal minds and greys but if u film 2 or upload 2 episodes at a time u could get through it pretty quickly and somebody said it’s a great show to have conversations about and i totally agree. it address so many things and was so ahead of it’s time. i also don’t really think the show goes downhill when the og characters leave. my fav character doesn’t even appear till season 10.

Lexsi (canyonlwt28)

a few shows i really want you to watch are (and i’m also aware some of these have been done on the channel but i’d love for u to do them too) degrassi, shameless, pretty little liars, dawson’s creek, the fosters, and shadow hunters

Olivia

i feel that you wouldnt stay for Greys and that you would find criminal minds more appealing and more interesting there is no bad season or episodes in Criminal Minds

I Am Not Chamari

Vampire Diaries is close-ish to ending and I wouldn’t mind replacing that show with a procedural tbh.

AllieDoh

I agree. I don't think there'll be much appealing about greys to Steven... It's LENGTHY in every sense of the word lol.

Marissa Brady

I am not sure if Steven would like Grays Anatomy or not. It does not seem like his cup of tea. But, then again, I might be wrong. Some of these would be better off as pilot reaction requests so that he can see if he would like the show or not before making it an actual show reaction. Especially considering how long some of these shows are. Grays and Degrassi might be better as pilot reaction requests so he can see if he likes them or not.

Olivia

fully agree and it doesnt seem like a show he would be interested in i feel he would stop reacting to it less than halfway through
