I agree this is a very stupid episode that they did for a kids show in the year like 2010 like most kids have never seen the breakfast club. I know I was a child in 2010 and I didn’t know what I was happening. What a weird episode.

Yeah I mean I do like the episode but I was literally 12 when this aired so it meant nothing to me lol. I will say it was a dedicated parody though, there's like a 10 minute video on youtube that shows all the comparisons with the movie

i graduated high school in 2009 and we all adored the breakfast club and quoted it all the time. but i'm not sure how kids a few years younger would be able to get the references

bluediners

I had a vague idea of what they were referencing when I was younger, but I didn't really get it. But a lot of the lines stuck with me over the years and I watched the movie afterwards lol. Yeah, these Nick shows would sometimes just reference things only adults would know. There's an April Fools episode this season that's a little similar.

tanasia

this show is mostly targeted for teens and teens in this age and back then definitely know the breakfast club lol. and the things you find weird are really hilarious to me. (most likely because i’m also a teenager)

tanasia

but also younger teens and kids don’t really question the weird or randomness that happens because they just don’t care enough and or find it funny

Susanna

When I was younger, I didn't understand this episode at all. It was an interesting choice to parody a movie from the 80s that most kids wouldn't understand, but I guess maybe they chose to do it to appeal to the parents.

CallingCollins

I told you, Steven, crack head episodes 😂😭 your reaction was great. Just the right amount of confusion and mild disgust

The only stuff I know about The Breakfast Club is from Pitch Perfect so this episode is completely left field for me.

Chelsea

Yeah I didn’t understand this episode but it stayed in my head. Like it’s one of the episodes I remember so vividly

manuel black

I think they just did it for the actors to do cuz I feel like every actor watched that movie pretty much since it's such an iconic movie plus actors love the craft makes sense in my opinion

manuel black

Oh no I liked it though it's funny seeing the characters out of place in some episodes of the series that we have seen so far so

peyten

as someone who's never seen the movie, and is watching this episode for the first time, this was the weirdest experience of my life lol

Angie

'kids these days' watch tons of old movies. I graduated in 2017 and have seen tons of classic movies even without trying to, cause...tv. And kids these days have netflix and hulu, etc. They're even MORE likely to get references cause they can watch anything they want and its 'cool' to like older things right now.

I loved Breakfast Club, so anytime a show references, pays homage to or parodies it, I love it, I'm biased that way, but this episode was bizarre, I still loved it though. Maybe they made this episode because the cast, people behind the scenes or both were fans of the movie or director and wanted to do it just for fun or maybe to make sure the younger audiences knew what Breakfast Club was.

Melissa

The next episode should be "The Gorilla Club" or else you'll spoil yourself

I Am Not Chamari

The entirety of this last season is in the correct order on Paramount+. He’s good to go!

I was 11 when this episode came out, and I definitely understood everything they were going for. I'd seen the Breakfast Club in parts on TV, probably edited down to PG-13. Most of my friends knew either slightly more or slightly less about the plot of it, and we all instantly started quoting this episode at school. So I would say most teens in the target demographic probably knew enough about the Breakfast Club to laugh at all the right parts. To me, this is when Victorious gets really good, because the actors are just having fun being so bizarre.

Angie

Lol, i guess you havent seen the breakfast club a lot. This is my favorite episode of the show tbh. I quoted it all the time in sophmore year of high school with my friends. The scene with the tacos was one of the most famous parts of the movie. It's when they all finally get along and decide to sneak out and get the weed from the locker aka the sliding scene. And the scene in the janitor's closet is with Bender (the basket case/bad boy). Andre is the jock. But overall, no character is one specific character. It's a satire so they're making fun of the movie a lot. Vegan is virgin and having tacos is smoking weed. Robbie crying "you're so conceited" was meant to be random, cause the scene is always just laughable in the movie tbh, but they made it random here. It doesn't have to make sense, it was a special episode that was meant to be random and just a parody. That's also why the acting was extra dramatic; it was part of the humor.

i think this episode is funny if you watch it right after the breakfast club or are a dedicated breakfast club fan and have seen it a lot. otherwise the jokes will miss a lot
