You need to keep in mind they cancelled the show....like cancelled it, Joss Whedon and the writers had no clue they were going to cancel it, until halfway of when these episodes were airing, only a few episodes were left to film and had already been written. Joss and Writers thought for sure there was going to be a Season 6. Buffy knew all along it was the final season before episode 1 of Season 7 aired. It is well known that by the time they found out about the cancellation he hadn't built up a storyarc unfortunately to finish the Arc of Angel, so really wont have the ending you are hoping these episodes are supposed to give you. The episodes including the Finale are all pretty great at least.

I find this episode pretty fun. Getting to see Spike and Angel buddy comedy is always going to be a plus in my book. I do know that some people don’t like the placement of it so close to the end or don’t like that we don’t actually get to get to see Buffy. But honestly, SMG was never going to agree to return and I kind of applauded the show for trying to tie up that lose end a little bit without actually having the actress. It’s not a favorite but still fun IMO

unpopular opinion: i don't like this episode. i understand that due to scheduling conflicts they couldn't get sarah to come in, but i feel if they couldn't get her to be in the episode, they should've just scrapped the idea for this episode all together. and i didn't find the angel/spike scenes all that funny or entertaining either. i also agree that i would've rather seen a cameo from literally anyone from btvs BUT andrew. i've never liked his character.

The placement of this episode reminds me of "Go Fish" in Season 2 of Buffy. A random fun episode that is in the wrong place in the season because it destroys the flow from the previous episodes and the the build up to the finale.

This is one of my favorite episodes honestly. But only because of Illyria and Wesley. I hate the Spike and Angel chasing after Buffy stuff, its' dumb and they look dumb the whole episode. The last season of Angel is what it is. The cancellation was unexpected so they did the best they could with what they had. I just hope you aren't getting your hopes too high
