House MD was never the kind of show to have continuous stories that stretch for an entire season or multiple seasons. Even the new team stuff in S4, Tritter, Vogler...those were maybe half season long. Yes there are more fillers in later seasons, but you seem to at least get a good laugh out of those, so have fun and roll with it, great episodes with substance and that kind of character stuff that you're missing are definitely coming. Finish season 7, if the second half of it won't convince you to finish the show, I won't be pushing it.

its only been a recent thing in popular television shows that there are season long arcs. procedures definitely were the last to start doing that. the whole point of television shows was that people could just jump into a random episode and not be lost.
