I have watched this episode so many times and never noticed Hathaway taking something from the medicine lockup until now. You have such a keen eye for details.

This takes place in Chicago. The producer of the show also made Shameless. The pilot episode started as a Spielberg movie. The pilot was written by Michael Crichton who wrote Jurassic Park. Michael was a real med student in an ER. Spielberg was on set for part of the filming. The actor who played Carter you recently saw too as the main character on Falling Skies. When this came out nobody had seen anything at this pacing it was advertised as an adrenaline ride. Whether Carol survives was supposed to be the hook if the show got picked up. This was supposed to be a slice of life documentary style. The show has some story arcs for each main character in between the constant flood of patients. This premiered the same week as Friends. They did a crossover night between all NBC Thursday shows that’s why the doctors showed up on Friends. The first OG hospital show was St. Elsewhere in the 80s with Mr. Feeney from Boy Meets World as the arrogant surgeon and a young actor named Denzel as the med student. This pilot has some nods to that show.

I loved ER, I hope you get to see more of the show. Also, Anthony Edwards the "lead" of the show was Goose in Top Gun.

Jonathan

I plan to request the next episode for next month so he can find out what happens.

I love this show so much! ER was nominated for over 375 Television Industry Awards. They won 116 of them. It is such an incredible show. In my opinion, it's still the best medical show drama. I have watched most of the other medical dramas, and they just don't seem to be on par with ER. I hope this show gets picked up. It deserves to be reacted to.

MASH was both an army and hospital show. MASH stands for Mobile Army Surgical Hospital. And I believe that was in the 70s.

Sherry Garcia

This is such a great show. I'm not sure about the wholie first season, but the pilot was shot in an actual hospital not a set which required some innovative shooting and angles leading to the realistic feel of the show. As someone else said, Michael Chriton was a med student at one point and they really put a lot of effort into making you feel the speed at which things would move and the realisism.

Oh wow, this is one of my favorite series ever! Please watch this. It's better than Greys!
