Haleys reactions in The end scene was a culmination of jamie saying he hated her and wanted nanny carrie to be his mother and finding nathan with nanny carrie in The shower. Because of nathans carriere she had to choose to trust him and repress natural doubt, because if she would let her self doubt nathan when he was famous and away playing, that would not work. So having given him her trust in The past and now finding him in The shower she probable had a big inner struggle going on. But she keet her cool pretty well The whole episode, like she did when nathan had injured himself, she was calm and was pretty mature when taking to him. Butbecause of her fear when jamie almost died, she felt like nathan should take care of them, and that he instead had betreyed them with nanny carrie. And all The repressed feelings from before came up with force. Understandable, when you feel guilty that you almost let your child get hurt.

Haley's reaction is actually understandable she went through six months of him being angry and drinking all the time as well as being emotionally and physically distant from his family, to the struggle of them trying to build themselves up as people and a couple, then the truth of Carrie and the lies there, and now the sudden fear of losing Jamie. She's just very emotionally fraught and tired. Plus she's struggling to identify herself right now and instead of having Nathan as her partner he's not only left her alone but he keeps just throwing shit at her even without meaning too. He's been better for awhile isn't at all how she feels like she's saying they just started turning a corner they are not in a good place at all. So that all plus her fear at finding her child face down in a pool because she was fighting with her husband over the fact that he's once again put their marriage at risk and she's carrying everything alone is why for her divorce came to mind.

Also, you can tell she was not totally over his behavior from after his accident. There was a tension there that was never resolved. Her saying she wanted a divorce here was a culmination of everything that's happened this season. This was just the final straw.

Mariella Nilsson

I agree, she hadn't gotten over The accident and was still kind of holding her breath, as we saw when quentin hit that idiot in The club, from haley reactions, she still doesn't really relax.

I agree with people here, Haley was justified in her albeit extreme reaction. First Nathan ruins his career, then ignores his family gor months and drinks all the time and then when things finally start to turn around and gett better he flirts and kisses (or lets himself be kissed) with their nanny. I would’ve had enough too.

And he has the opportunity to come clean or tell her about what was going on but didn’t. Having to hear about it from the other woman (even if not much actually happed ) is so much worse. Also, he was defensive during the argument. I think if he could have approached it more apologetically and understanding of her viewpoint maybe it wouldn’t have escalated so much.

I think this season does a good job of creating relatable conflict between Nathan and Haley. Yes, Nathan handled that whole Carrie situation poorly but he didn’t cheat with her and he “just” liked her flirting and Haley and him have been going through a rough patch and working through shit.

Rebeccaf87

I also think as viewers we tend to forget that we see the full story and that the characters don't. They're doing the best with the information given and how they feel about that information. Carrie is telling her one thing and Nathan another after he didn't confess everything prior. It would be hard to know what to believe, plus the rough patch, Jamie's reaction, and him almost drowning. It's alot to take in at that moment.

Heather

She did believe him that there was nothing else, even after Carrie told her. Because ofc she would believe him over the psycho, but it turns out he was lying to her by not disclosing everything. Her faith and trust in him took a severe blow this season and she's done. He said something similar. In defense of his behavior, (which to me he has none 🙄) he also said he was done and that he couldn't take it anymore. Emotions are high on both ends. Did they mean what they said? We shall see.

thisismaria27

I mean, yes. He did not disclose Carrie's behavior and that obviously disappointed Haley heavily. But I don't think this can't be resolved if they both want to work on their marriage. Haley's reaction was just bc everything came at once at her and needs some time to process.

Heather

I too liked the Naley drama this season. It's a good conflict to have at this point in their marriage. How everything snowballed from his accident makes sense. The storyline is very organic. The way it's being handled now and in the future is very relatable and realistic.

thisismaria27

I 100% agree with that. They were really well-written this season, really organic and authentic.

Heather

I agree Maria, it's not unfixable. They just don't know how. Primarily because Haley is still too hurt from previous stuff. She is usually the one who forgives and fixes it. I think she generally forgives too easily. Nice to see her sit with this for awhile.
