Excited for episode 13!

A great episode, and one of the first I remember enjoying as a kid. You mentioned the cheesy romance music and lines, and I think you should remember that this was an Aaron Spelling produced show (the master of the primetime soap opera), and the creator of Charmed is Constance Burge, who had just come off of a really fun soap on this network called Savannah, which she also created. Alyssa Milano (Phoebe) and Shannen Doherty (Prue), were the big draws for the show and were known for their roles on Melrose Place and Beverly Hills, 90210. As a result, much of the earlier material will be rather soapy. BTW, the young girl was Christina Milian.

I've never been a big fan of this episode but ep 13 is coming up and I love that one!

You reacted exactly how I expected ;D and I agree, a decent episode, has some good moments and ideas, but also silly at times. As for Pipers powers - it's both. The range matters, but it’s the range of the room she's in. And her powers keep growing so she can freeze further and further away. Next episode is better.

Oh and ’’Feats of Clay’’ name of the last episode, it’s the name of Phoebes ex, yes, but also the episode was about protector of the urn, urn which is made of clay, so I think it’s a nice play on words. :)

Robke

Omg that explains sooo much thanks for sharing!!

Yes, season 1 sound effects are very soap opery (circa late 80s-early 90s). Season 2 and on is different in that. I think Aaron needed a transitional time, coming out of Merlose Place and Beverly Hills and into Charmed - a vastly different type of show, so the 1st season ended up being something in between soap opera and a supernatural type of show in terms of editing and I think even directing.

Steven watching Charmed: "I know Wendigo from Supernatural" Me watching Supernatural: "Hey, Wendigo from Charmed!" :-)))) I love both shows tremendously, but Charmed did it first. Just wanna throw it out there) I love this episode, silly as it is. It expanded the universe in an interesting way. I love how Steven just called it, 3 sec into the episode that FBI lady is the wendigo) They didn't really hide it though, made it pretty obvious. I found it interesting, that all 3 sisters were so open about this Wendigo with Andy(and the FBI lady). With all their secrecy, they just like "yeah, it's a monster like a werewolf, and it's just human in the day, its called Wendigo..." and just very straightforward about the magical side of Piper's attacker.

charmed_olive

That's a good catch about the title, I never even thought about the CLAY urn really.)

:DD yeah the FBI lady being the wendigo was no big mystery lol. I also whenever I see wendigo appear or being talked about anywhere, just think of Charmed. This case is kinda different when it comes to secrecy, since Andy was already aware of sooo many details before he was knocked unconscious. :D so even if Prue didn't say anything, he'd have to know it was her right? She was right behind him and then mysteriously missing after the stakeout. It's just unusual how Prue decided to tell him ''we vanquished her" xD like what?

charmed_olive

lol, that too. But I meant more that from the start of the episode they were just spilling the truth not even trying to cover up the supernatural nature of the attack and the creature.

Robke

Maybe in the beginning they didn't know themselves it was magical? ;D just some overgrown monkey. Or perhaps because before sisters said anything, two other people seemed very sure it was a creature

I always thought it was a little weird that they basically just told the police "it's a werewolf-like creature" and it's just accepted as fact. Especially considering how hard Prue tried to keep things on the DL with Andy before...as for the lore itself, I preferred SPN's version of the wendigo that I did Charmed. It's a pretty fun episode, though, and I enjoyed Piper being an aggressive B to her sisters for once lol. Can't wait for episode 13. Don't wanna hype it too much so I'll just say MAN OH MAN 🤩🤩🤩
