I'm super late but... This show is actually so amazing. There are 0 filler episodes tbh. And though yes, it gets sad at times, it has many wholesome moments! Worth watching from the beginning til the end. The acting is also impeccable and like you already know SKB, and many of the other actors in the cast have won several awards for their roles in this show and the show in itself has gotten many awards/recognitions as well. You should most definitely continue to watch it when you get the chance :)

tried to get into this show a few years ago but stopped after about 5 episodes because i found myself crying hysterically every episode. it was just wayy too draining and emotionally heavy for me. but if you watch the series, im going to attempt to give it another chance and watch it with you. maybe i'll change my perspective.

I do love This show so much it's a whole complete story start to finish and I feel like that doesn't happen alot like it leaves you wanted or needing more and not with this show it's honestly perfect ❤️

Oh man this show is so good!

You thought you knew the older brother somewhere but I didn’t think you answered. He played Oliver/Green Arrow in Smallville. Show does have that sad tone sometimes but not always. It’s both good and sad stuff in life.

He did, he recognized him from the sitcom “baby daddy” which I’m pretty sure the “man.ny” sitcom he was in was making fun of “baby daddy”

I gotta say, to me, this show never has filler episodes. Every one is carefully written 👌🏼

So glad you’re enjoyed it! It is literally one of my favorite pilots ever! And you’re right - this show was infamous for being really heavy, and yes, really sad. Some people resent because of that, but I think it is exactly what was needed to restore my faith in humanity. Sterling K. Brown only won one Emmy for his work in this show (Season 1) but he and Milo Ventimiglia were consistently nominated throughout the seasons. Mandy Moore, Chris Sullivan (Toby) and Chrissy Metz (Kate) have also been nominated. Ron Cephas Jones (William) has won a couple and the show was also consistently nominated. I honestly think it deserved a lot more than it got, but I guess, in theory, it had a good run! Anyways, for all the sadness this show might have, I also think it has a beautiful levity and simplicity to it all as well. Not to be corny, but I think this show has caused me to have a greater appreciation of life and the connections we form.

Yes, This Is Us is infamous for making people cry every episode, but mostly it's a show about healing, about life and death and just people. I call it free therapy. Mandy Moore is iconic in this role. Sterling K Brown deserved every single award he won too. The entire cast is killing it on this show. I truly hope we get to see you watch more of it.

Oh, the one thing I forgot to mention is that Kevin, Kate and Randall were all born in 1980.
