Anne Dudek was replaced after the pilot as the test audience didn't react well to the fact that her character Lucinda was "having an affair" with Lassiter even though he was separated for some time. I love Maggie Lawson but I have had a thing for Anne Dudek ever since I saw her in "The Book Group"

yeah the crime is kind of the side thing lol the main thing is the characters and their dynamics and how that unfolds. especially with shawn and his dad and shawn and lassiter. it's more about him trying to keep up his rouse and not get himself into too much trouble. it's not a crime show like say the mentalist or criminal minds. it's definitely a comedy where the crime is kind of the side thing that pushes the plot of the chracter dynamics along
