I don't really know in depth of the show like I've watched it recently and still can't fully remember but I think it was just cuz Emily had asked to deliver the book to Toby but Toby wasn't there or she saying since you're so close to Toby you tell him don't remember how but it's one of those too

Yeah I think Emily is just bothered by the fact Toby ditched her to hang out with Spencer. I mean she was his friend first and the fact that he didn't notify her that he wasn't be gonna be able to make it just makes it seem like he doesn't really think of their friendship as important. Granted, that is not Spencer's fault but I think that just hurt her so Spencer is the closest person she can put her bit of frustration unto (but it ain't that serious). But I think she will come to understand that Toby was just preoccupied with the whole Jenna going bonkers because of her phone situation lol.

I don’t think Emily was upset at Spencer. It’s just obvious that Emily and Toby have drifted apart and Spencer and Toby are getting closer and closer, so it would be more natural for Spencer to tell Toby. I think Emily is sad that she’s not as close with Toby, but it’s nothing more than that. Also, can we talk about how -A casually killed a rat??? And the fact that it was specifically the rat named Spencer… gosh. In terms of the girls wanting to be around Aria/Ezra as a couple… they’re teenagers. So many teenaged girls were taught, with the help of this show, that getting attention and being groomed by older men is normal and expected, I mean, just look at Spencer! So, it’s exciting for them, mostly. It’s hard when you’re in it to be convinced that it’s wrong, and even then, you’ll do anything to defend yourself and the relationship. Not to mention the show itself is parading the relationship around as if it’s the greatest love story, so it definitely wants the audience to believe in it and root for them too.

In response to your question about Emily, I think she might just feel shes being replaced as a friend by spencer. I think In bringing that book to him she wanted to make amends, but I think she might feel like Toby doesn’t care about their friendship anymore because he has spencer.

I think the girls are just blinded by their teenage perspectives. Like look at Taylor Swift and Demi Lovato in current times for example. (Also now Billie Eilish!!)They both dated grown men when they were minors. They were groomed. But they always talked about the relationships positively at the time, when they were younger, with excitement because they felt special getting the attention from an older man. But both Demi and Taylor have come out recently as adults, explaining that they now recognize that they were groomed and taken advantage of. I remember when I was in middle school/ high school I was a huge shipper of Aria and Ezra. I thought their relationship was super cute and I thought the sneaking around was exciting. At the time, when I watched this with my older sister who was in college, she made a few comments about their relationship being bad and about how he was taking advantage of her. When I was a kid I didn’t agree with her. But as an adult now, I find their relationship repulsive and it’s hard for me to even imagine what I was thinking at that age. I think until about age 24 when your brain stops developing fully, you are able to be so easily manipulated, even by tv shows like this one.
