Allison was going to tell Melissa that Spencer and Ian kissed was the whole point of that argument no spoilers

So the conversation Alison and Spencer are having is actually about Spencer sharing a kiss with Ian (happened in the very first episode), which clearly Alison was just forcing Spencer to tell her sister about it not because she thought it was wrong but because she wanted Ian to herself.

Yes. As the others have said, Alison was going to tell Melissa about Spencer and Ian. A reminder that Spencer had no idea that Alison and Ian were involved at that time, so it wouldn’t even be a topic of conversation. Regarding why the girls are friends with Alison, Alison curated a very specific kind of relationship with the girls that made them feel special and important. Most of the Alison flashbacks we’ve seen are of her being mean, sure, but even going back to the pilot episode, the girls were clearly having fun around her. And I’m guessing that it would be a little easier to have Alison as a friend then have Alison as an enemy. Like, we saw what she did to Toby/Jenna. Going back to Spencer/Alison, in Jason’s first episode, he made it clear that Spencer and Alison used to go at each other constantly and that she was the only one to stand up to her. We saw one of those scenes in this episode, but that’s why Spencer said that Emily never stood up to Alison. Emily didn’t, but Spencer did all the time. Regarding Paige, she’s just a jealous freak at this point lol. She’s annoyed that Emily can waltz back on to the team and do really well and be rewarded when she has to be such a try-hard and still not be better than Emily.
