I do suggest paying attention to what Haley says here. It plays a part in season 7

Leora Nechama

One of my favorite episodes. I l love Skillz and Haley's friendship. She was always part of the river court crew. And I loooved Bevin's speech to Rachel. 🙌

Brooke's only personal thing was how badly her parents absence and disregard has affected her, from the front she puts on, the default bitchy attitude she slips into... everything is because she doesn't feel enough so she goes on the defence. It's also explains a large portion of her insecurities with Lucas (regardless of Luke giving her genuine reasons to be insecure in that relationship.) and why she's seemingly boy-crazy, because she's constantly searching for that security. But I agree, the segment with Brooke and Chase should have/could have been much deeper. Also, we have met Glenda before. A couple times. She was the girl 'missing' during the school shooting who was actually hiding from her mom to make her panic so she would realize she could lose her. She was also the one who told Brooke about Shelley (clean teen girl) getting picked up early from church camp, which led to Brooke knowing Shelley had an abortion.

I don't disagree, they could have done a lot more with Brooke and Chase. We didn't learn anything about Chase really, just that he want's to make clean teen cool. But we did learn a little about Brooke, about feeling like she's not enough, which is not just about Chase, but about feeling, she's not smart enough, not pretty enough, not good enough for her parents or anyone, which helps us understand a lot about her choices and insecurities. So I feel like we got a little bit with her, more than Peyton, which we got nothing with, other than the fact that she's still dealing with what happened with Psycho Derek aka Ian.

I'm gonna answer a couple of your questions: -) Shelly's parents forbid her from seeing her summer camp boyfriend bc he got her pregnant and she had an abortion (as she told Brooke in episode 4). -) We actually met Glenda before, she met Brooke after the school shooting, hiding from her mom. -) Brooke's hour was actually super meaningful to us fans bc her fears of not being enough was super relatable and her quotes in the end about labels is one of the most iconic ones of the show (so imho it was less about Chase but about Brooke's growth with being honest).

Brooke’s fears about not being enough is not just about being enough for Chase. It’s about being enough for ANYONE, which is rooted in her relationship with her parents, who clearly haven’t shown that they want her at all or even like her. This goes back to her relationship with Lucas and how she said that she felt inferior and less than to him. I thought it was amazing to see it talk about and tackle it in this way. But yeah, we really didn’t get anything out of Peyton which is weird? I guess the show thought we’ve been focusing on her a lot the past few episodes any way.

This is one of my favorite episodes. It's a take on The Breakfast Club, in which John Kapelos played the janitor, and he plays the teacher here with the same name as in the film.

Man, this episode got me so emotional. Mouth and the Clean Teen girl was cute, Brooke/Chase was meh though we did touch a little on her insecurities of being not enough, and we got nowhere with Peyton. But I LOVED Peyton and Nathan's friendship. It's so sweet tbh. They sucked as a couple but they both grew so much and, as these better versions of themselves, I'm so happy they're good friends. I loved Bevin taking her stand for once but I loved Haley and Skills the most. The moment Peyton said "Nathan Scott is a martyr", I started tearing up. The ending to this episode, everyone's segments, was amazing.
