Great reaction, this is one of the only Disney Remakes i really enjoy. i thought Emma Watson did a fantastic job as belle, and i also really like who they cast as Gaston i just love this whole movie. i honestly cant believe i never noticed that Ewan McGregor played Lumiere i was so shocked when you said that.

The first time i watched was when on the first day it came out as i was excited for it especially being a big fan of Emma Watson and i loved it and for sure cried at most parts. i do not understand the misjudgment of Emma being casted as Belle but i have seen some saying about the way she looked, which is odd because that is not what the character is about, yes she is beautiful but she is very beautiful inside and i think Emma was showing that side alot which is what we should expect with a character like Belle that her looks should not even matter because inside was so much more and Emma did an amazing job showing it and besides Emma Watson is Belle in real life and she has always been the one to choose to play Belle. Dan Stevens who played The Beast was amazing and he put so much character to Beast but people also did not like the way he looked as well and was called ugly which is crazy because why would Belle even care about his looks because if she did she would have gone for Gaston, also he is actually handsome even in his other roles, he did an amazing job. This Movie was just magical to me and loved every bit even other added things that was actually needed, Belle's mother, why the beast become how he was and just the storyline need make sense which with some movies doesn't. Loved every bit of your reaction !

Thanks for the great reaction! I know I’m super late but also semi new patron so I just finished watching. As with most things I think some people in general just nitpick. I mean even 3 years after announcing that Hailie Berry was cast as Ariel for the Little Mermaid people are still up in arms over it, unfortunately that has more to do with race which is just sad and stupid. The casting of Emma Watson as Belle came down to a bunch of different things, she doesn’t look like Belle, she can’t sing, etc. And while vocally she isn’t as strong as her co-stars I still think she did a great job. Hopefully she keeps training (as I read she went through extensive vocal training for her singing) if she decides to do another musical. The take away though is it’s the internet and people will always find something to not like or complain about. We demand something different but want it to stay the same. Everyone is entitled to their opinions and what they like and don’t like but the difference is, at least for myself if I don’t like a movie or book or show I just move on, then you have people that literally start twitter wars and boycotts 🤷🏽‍♂️. I personally loved this film, and I loved that we got a little backstory on Belle’s mom and why the Beast was as cold as he was. I had those questions for years after seeing the original animated film. All in all I too would grade it at a B. The additional music (Beasts song annd Belle’s Paris of my childhood) and the cinematography was beautiful. Since you have stated you love musicals and the surprise that Ewan McGregor was Lumier I highly recommend Moulin Rouge. Other musicals which are I guess a little divisive amongst musical film fans Les Miserables and La La Land.
