YES!! I haven't watched the reaction yet, but this is the episode where I really feel like Buffy officially starts.

This was def a Willow episode. :) In answer to your question about Angel...whatever age he was at the time he was turned, he's physically frozen in that age for the rest of his immortal life. Mentally and emotionally, he's got a couple hundred years of growth and maturity under his belt...but physically, he will forever remain the age he was when he was turned. That being said... Most people still consider him to be 200-some odd years old and get grossed out by the idea of him "grooming" a teen girl. The context that should also be considered, though, is that grooming is hardly the worst thing a vampire has done to a human being if we're being honest here...and Buffy and Angel are both of the supernatural world, so our normal human rules don't all apply to their situation.

Totally agree with the Willow appreciation! :D

Yeah, the age difference never really bothered me. It ABSOLUTELY would in real life. However, I separate fantasy/fiction from reality. So I can enjoy their romance on television even if I wouldn't approve IRL. I feel like it was much more common for the majority of people to feel this way back when the show was airing. Now people constantly try to apply real life morals to television shows that include stuff just for the drama. Personally, I hope that fiction NEVER starts trying to copy real world morals because that would lead to some really boring television! So, maybe just try to think of it as something to enjoy in a fake world. Sort of like a guilty pleasure. You can enjoy it without condoning it in the real world.

I know both Steven and now Brian have issues with the age thing in this show but I never have...they're vampires. If we're gonna get technical about ages, there would never be vampire romances in the world. The way I see it, they're frozen at whatever age they were when they were turned, so unless Angel was 35 when he was turned, I don't have a problem with Buffy at 16 being with him.

''Now people constantly try to apply real life morals to television shows that include stuff just for the drama.'' - Really? Twilight anyone? :)

The actor playing Ethan Rayne also played the alien villain in Galaxy Quest which also stars Allen Ripley, Veronica Mars' dad, Monk, Professor Snape and more. Unfortunately the actor (Robin Sachs) already passed away.
