Good solid episode. Expands the scope of Westeros with Jason Lannister being such a named role. Good imagery and allegory with the White Hart and Viserys' monologue by the bonfire is so good! Rhaenyra and her dad clearly can connect on emotional level, there's just long absences between their father-daughter talks. Prepare for more time-jumps, after all the book this show is based on, Fire and Blood, is written as a history book from 2 different perspectives (One with facts and dates and battles, and the other with scandalous gossip about who was sleeping with who and such). So the author of Game of Thrones and Fire and Blood said this show is essentially the true history of what happened, so it will definitely play more like a history and clearly not at all like a day-to-day narrative.

George r.r Martin had said that daemon is his favorite

Interesting! I def did not know that it would play like a historical retelling. This comment really changed the lens in which I watch the show. Thanks, Max.

i think putting the crab feeder's death off screen and not explaining any of his motives or background is indicative of the fact that he's not actually the season's big bad/villain and he's pretty irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. he was merely a plot device used to cause turmoil and conflict between daemon/corlys and king viserys.
